Day Trip from Prague to Karlštejn Castle and a Glass Factory Tour
The Guardian of the Holy Roman Relics Karlštejn Castle
This guided tour to Karlštejn Castle will take you to what was once the most important site which housed the Holy Roman Empire jewels, Imperial Regalia and Holy Relics. It is still one of the most beautiful and most popular castles in Czech Republic and central Europe and one of the best examples of Gothic architecture. Seated among the low mountains, atop a high mount, you won't find a bad view of the castle from any angle. The tour included pickup and drop off at your hotel in Prague, personal transfer to Karlštejn, a coffee and sweets break in the morning, an English speaking guided tour of the castle, a tradition Czech lunch with a drink of your choosing, and entrance to a glass museum to experience traditional Czech glass making.

Gorgeous Gems and Ghastly Ghosts: Karlštejn Castle stands out from other castles in this magical wonderland due to its mysterious past and haunting history. At its conception, it was to guard over the most precious gems and royal relics of the Holy Roman Empire, as decreed by Charles IV (also famous for the Charles Bridge). It did so, and since that time, many fantastic ghost stories have arisen about its many former residents. Then see the wonders of world renowned Czech glass making at a nearby glass factory. Through the day enjoy a traditional Czech pastry and later lunch, all included.

Our tour to Karlstejn was excellent! Everything from the driver and the guide to all of the tours and the stops. As soon as we got in the car, our guide was showering us with history about the Czech Republic. Coming from the U.S. we don't learn a lot about the history in this area so we didn't know about Charles IV and to know what he did was really amazing. Lunch was delicious too-thanks for the recommendations on what to order, that's another hard part about traveling, knowing what to order ;)
